After Wessel Van Wyk’s outstanding Chopin recital, featured on Brooklyn Theatre TV, we are honoured to take the opportunity to ‘look back’ on his career as SA concert pianist and highlight, the concerto performance in 1978, which saw to it that he won a 2nd prize in the SABC Music Competition.
In this video, Wessel performs the fiendishly difficult Piano concerto no. 2 in A major by Franz Liszt with the Cape Town Symphony Orchestra in the Cape Town City Hall. The conductor is Pinchas Steinberg.
