Willem Vogel’s ingenious programming which has become a hallmark of these concerts and made them as popular as they have been over the years, is once again at work to ensure a suitably festive and highly enjoyable performance. Apart from popular carols, other highlights include two dramatic pipe organ solos that will make you tremble, namely The Rhapsody on Christmas Themes (Gigout) and the Carillon de Westminster (Vierne), an exciting excerpt from the Haydn Trumpet Concerto, The trumpet shall sound from the Messiah (Handel). Sleigh ride (Leroy Anderson) for trumpet and organ and of course O Holy Night (Adam) among others.
